Overview

The Mayor is an Admin position in the Department of Membership. The position focuses on handling all aspects of a Citizen's life in the City and provides counsel when requested to the Director of Membership and the Officers. The Mayor is responsible for processing new Citizen applications, moderating the City forums, placing Citizens before the Hall for acceptance into the Tower and settling any disputes or punishments regarding Citizens. As a member of the Department of Membership, the Mayor also helps moderate Ask the White Tower.

Rotation: Every eighteen months

Merit Eligibility: Administrator Merit

Chain of Command

The Mayor reports directly to the Director of Membership.

The Welcome Committee report to the Mayor

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Community experience of all Citizens, beginning with processing Citizen applications
  • Gathering recommendations for Citizens when they apply to the Tower, along with placing those applications before the Hall
  • Complete quarterly reports for the Director of Membership concerning Citizens
  • Maintain contact information for Citizens
  • Any other duties relating to the City
  • Managing the Welcome Committee

Expectations

  • Must be organized, active, and have strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Must be extremely knowledgeable about our Bylaws, the Membership Manual, the administrative structure, and how our Community operates

Time Commitment

  • Must be able to dedicate at least 10-15 hours per week to the position though this number could be far more (sometimes less) depending on the week

Qualifications

  • Must be a member of at least 6 months standing - Citizens, Aes Sedai and Gaidin all are eligible

History

The position was created into 2003 when the City and rank of Citizen were created. Originally, there were several assistants, led by the Constable
