General

Deni Colford is a member of the Queen's Guard of Andor. Before, she kept order in a wagon driver's tavern in Low Caemlyn. She is a graying, bulky and placid-faced Andoran with wide shoulders (WH, Ch. 7; CoT, Ch. 11).

Timeline

• Deni and seven other Queen's Guards accompany Elayne and Sareitha through Caemlyn along with their Warders (WH, Ch. 7).

• She is one of the Guardswomen to replace those who returned with Elayne from Aedmun Matherin's manor (CoT, Ch. 11).

• She is in charge of the Guardswomen to replace Devore's, but she ignores Elayne's orders for them to keep out and announces that a servant came to inform them Lady Dyelin has returned (KoD, Ch. 16).

• Deni escorts Elayne to the Map Room (KoD, Ch. 16).

• She comes in to inform Elayne of the arrival of a Red sister and Elayne has her escort Duhara to the gates afterwards. She returns to announce Halwin Norry and Samwil Hark. After their report, Elayne has Deni fetch Birgitte and then arrest Doilin Mellar (KoD, Ch. 31).

Miscellaneous

• She does not know how to use the sword, but she is skilled with a cudgel (WH, Ch. 7).

• She is very quick and has sharp eyes (WH, Ch. 7; CoT, Ch. 11).

• Once a man named Eldrin Hackly nearly killed her when he was drunk (KoD, Ch. 17).

• She likes one of the other Guards, but Birgitte disapproves that they let it show when they are on duty (KoD, Ch. 17).
