General

Gerra Kishar was an Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah. She was raised to the Amyrlin Seat in the year 601 NE when she succeeded Shein Chunla, and held the position until her death in 638 NE when she was succeeded by Varuna Morrigan (TWoRJTWoT).

Gerra was a very strong Amyrlin. She raised the prestige of the White Tower to levels seldom equaled since Artur Hawkwing. She controlled the Tower by skillfully playing one faction against another in the Hall (TPoD, Ch. 15).

Siuan thinks that Egwene wants to be another Gerra Kishar or Sereille Bagand (TPoD, Ch. 15). Egwene can't help but wonder whether she will be a strong Amyrlin, like Gerra, or a weak one, like Shein Chunla (TPoD, Ch. 19).
