General

Reimon is a young Tairen lordling who Mat meets and gambles with in the Stone of Tear (TSR, Ch. 2) and later joins the Band, where he eventually becomes a banner general (KoD, Ch. 26). He is broad shouldered , with a dark beard trimmed to an oiled point and smiles a lot (TSR, Ch. 2; KoD, Ch. 26). Talmanes thinks he is not a fool, but that he won't listen to Daerid because Daerid is a commoner (KoD, Ch. 26).

Timeline

  • He gambles with Mat in the Stone when a bubble of evil transforms the playing cards. He denies seeing anything, but still leaves as quickly as he can (TSR, Ch. 2).
  • He is amongst the Tairen contingent after the battle of Cairhien (TFoH, Ch. 46).
  • He is the leader of the fifth squadron in the band, who call themselves Reimon's Eagles (LoC, Ch. 5).
  • Talmanes leaves him in Murandy commanding a banner, so Mat makes him a banner general (KoD, Ch. 26).

Quotes

“At least they serve the Lord Dragon. I would take a hundred Defenders and clean them out of the Stone, if not for that.” (About the Aiel The Shadow Rising, Chapter 2).

“With the Lord Dragon to lead us, holding Callandor, we’ll not even have to fight. He will scatter their armies, and we will march straight into Illian. Too bad, in a way. Burn my soul if it isn’t. I would like a chance to match swords with the Illianers.” (The Shadow Rising, Chapter 2).

Carlomin and Reimon are not fools, Mat – at least, Reimon is only a fool sometimes, but neither will they listen to a commoner, no matter how much more he knows about warfare than they do” (Talmanes, Knife of Dreams, Chapter 26).
