Jeaine Caide
From Tar Valon Library
Author: Kyria d'Oreyn
General
Jeaine Caide is a member of the Black Ajah, posing as a Green Aes Sedai. She is slim and swan-necked with coppery skin. She is originally from Arad Doman (NS, Ch. 11; TSR, Ch. 38).
She enjoys wearing revealing dresses and having men look at her even more than most Greens (TSR, Ch. 38; TFoH, Ch. 18).
Timeline
- She is the representative of the Green Ajah when Moiraine and Siuan are fetched to swear on the Oath Rod and become full Aes Sedai (NS, Ch. 11).
- Jeaine leaves the White Tower with the rest of Liandrin's group for Tear. They steal several ter'angreal that allow access to Tel'aran'rhiod (TDR, Ch. 13).
- She tests the fluted black rod that produces balefire. It "burns" a hole through both sides of the ship and nearly kills Jeaine before she can make it stop (TSR, Ch. 38).
- She leaves Tear with the others and heads for Tanchico on their search for the male a'dam. They manage to get control over Amathera, the Panarch of Tarabon, and move to her palace after they find out that what they were searching for is there (TSR, Ch. 38; TSR, Ch. 46).
- Juilin sees Jeaine in the Panarch's Palace; he knows it is her because he does not believe there is any other Domani woman anywhere in Tarabon (TSR, Ch. 51, TSR, Ch. 54).
- When she encounters Nynaeve in the Palace, she uses the rod on her, but Nynaeve is able to escape the balefire (TSR, Ch. 54). Liandrin does not believe Jeaine when she tells her whom she has seen (TFoH, Ch. 18).
- Nynaeve tells Elayne that she was surprised by Jeaine when she was worrying about how to bring Moghedien out for trial (TSR, Ch. 54).
- After having fled Tarabon, Jeaine and the others regroup in a Darkfriend's manor in Amadicia where Moghedien seeks them out to assign them tasks. Jeaine's is yet unknown, but she seemed horrified because of it at first (TFoH, Ch. 18).
- She is killed by Thom, trying to sneak into the Pit of Doom, disguised as Cadsuane (AMoL, Ch. 44).
Quotes
“What good are promises that we will rule the world when the Great Lord returns if we are crushed between warring Forsaken first? Does anyone believe we could stand against any of them?" (Jeaine to her companions; The Shadow Rising, Chapter 38)
